November 25th 2018, first Devlog
Hello to the Herd,
This is the first dev log of many more to come. This will act as journal for us as we our journey begins. This is literally the start. Art direction, story, music, and much more hasn't even been discussed. This and many of our post will look like we are participating in amateur hour, and you'll be right! Everyone starts somewhere and we are going to start here. I hope you all enjoy this journey with us. This first post is coming a little later than the date listed in the title. Jordan was not able to post details when they were finished. I'm here to sum them up the best I can.
Things built or accomplished in convenient list form (who doesn't like a nice list?) :
- Created obstacles, sprites, and objects
- Created player character
- Created player character animations
- Obstacles kill player character now (rude , am I right?)
- Obstacles randomly spawn and move across screen
- Established random, wrapped screen
- Object/board player stands on now in fixed position
- Tweaked jump physics to make player movement more satisfying
- Fixed issue with player death sprite showing in wrong place
- Created platforms and platform collision detection, vertical only for now
And that's it for now. Kinda lame right? We know, but it's exciting for us. Another update will go up either later this evening or tomorrow.
